today i had another one of my brilliant moments. i signed a card for someone who is being promoted and is transferring to another store. i don't know this person, but i thought i have heard people in my department talking about him and that he used to work in my department, but he transferred departments or left or something shortly before i started. i was trying to be like everyone else and say something other than congratulations, so i just mentioned too bad i just missed working with him. unfortunately, there are two people with the same first name that i got confused, the one i was thinking of actually left the store completely when he left my department, so this is someone else...that i never would have worked with. so i scribbled all that out with the big blue sharpie i was using and made a mess. then i covered it with white out because it looked so bad. i almost put in parentheses over it (this is what someone really thinks of you), but since i don't know this guy, i don't know if he has a sense of humor...so i just avoided making it worse and added (on your promotion) after congratulations. i also mentioned someone else's good idea to the store manager like i said i would, and for some reason, that was a mistake too, "like i can't speak for myself!" make up your mind.madame le professeur at 7:53 PM

hier, après avoir rendu visité ma famille...je suis rentrée chez moi vraiment tard...mais j'avais beaucoup d'energie, alors, j'ai couru. après je voulais prendre ma douche tout à l'heure. donc, quand j'ai trouvé ma serviette pleine de shampooing, il m'a mit en colère! j'ai mes soupçons d'un homme qui travaille au bureau de l'appartement...je ne lui aime pas du tout, et je pense que moi, il faut me venger...madame le professeur at 7:47 PM

today was an adventure. but even when bad things happen, they make good stories. someone told me in the breakroom that she just found out that her boyfriend's new bike was a clone. so...now they're cloning everything, i guess. somehow it was stolen and passed off as legal. they had a title and everything! but the guy selling these hot vehicles spent all of the money before they found him, and he is in jail (ie unable to repay anything). so the victims, like this girl's boyfriend, will have to make payments on vehicles that were taken away and returned to their rightful owners. this legal system needs work. security arrested someone today after finding stolen checks in her car. if she hadn't been acting so insane and then refused a search, they probably wouldn't have even looked. someone else came in with a bruise and stitches. i think they said they needed 18, and they tried to sue my friend anthony. what an idea, since he had nothing to do with it! then she blamed a fixture and wanted to sue the company. a supervisor had to come down and explain what she would have to go through. i always wondered why the mall always holds the free blood pressure screenings right in front of our store's main upstairs entrance...now i know =o)madame le professeur at 11:10 PM

what a day! i left at 7 a.m. to get an hour and a half flight at 10 to get home fast, a day earlier than planned, and i just got home...5:45 p.m. of that same time zone. if everything else wasn't enough, why do construction workers feel the need to take down all of the signs leading to the airport on the day that i fly? the person picking me up drove around for 2 hours trying to find all of those missing airplane pictures, then continued to take wrong exits on the way home and almost gave up completely. *tired*madame le professeur at 4:42 PM

the first conversation/tutoring session went surprisingly well...i wasn't uncomfortable and at a loss of words, like i thought i would be, and i also wasn't the only one talking! it's a shame i got a parking ticket for exactly how much i made when i stopped on the way to print off the directions, parking in a space where a cop told me just weeks ago that i could park! i think i have finally learned the difference in parking "legally" and with "minimal risk," not the same thing, and i can't believe a cop, of all people, would encourage anything but what is "legal"...until i thought about the fact that our mistakes are their job security. this is just a minor example of what people today call "low down."madame le professeur at 1:25 PM
